              ABOUT DOVIA OF DES MOINES

              DEFINITION
              DOVIA (Directors of Volunteers in Agencies) of Des Moines is a professional association of volunteer managers from numerous organizations serving a diverse population.

              To promote professionalism and provide a place of empowerment and support for volunteer management leaders.

              OUR PURPOSE
              To develop the goals and professional skills of those who direct volunteers through educational training.  To promote and maintain professional association among those interested in the direction of volunteerism.  To promote communication among member agencies, interested agencies, institutions, the general public and DOVIA.

              OUR RESOURCES
              Our monthly meetings which focus on volunteer management and/or personal and professional development; the ability to network with other volunteer management leaders, the DOVIA resource library, and other education and training opportunities.
