OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUR ORGANIZATION

10,000 Hours Show of Central Iowa
The 10,000 Hours Show of Central Iowa is a project of the United Way of Central Iowa, the Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service, the Volunteer Center of Story County, Iowa State University, and Drake University. The 10,000 Hours Show (10K) recognizes and recruits young volunteers to impact the community and develop the next generation of volunteers. This is an active year-long volunteer recruitment effort, which culminates in a concert for students who have volunteered their time throughout the year. Impacting the community and developing tomorrows leaders is the mission of the 10,000 Hours Show. This unique blend of student volunteers and community impact is available for non-profit organizations.

AIB College of Business
The Service Learning Program at AIB helps students develop and grow by participating in organized "service-learning" experiences that meet the needs of the community. By participating in service learning, students will be able to engage in active learning and meet the needs of the community agencies they are serving. Contact them at the link to find out how your agency can partner with AIB College of Business in Des Moines.

The National Cristina Foundation
The National Cristina Foundation matches worthy non-profit groups with corporations, businesses and computer companies such as Dell and IBM, that have good, used computer equipment to donate. The non-profit group must fill out an on-line "grant" application and go through a review process before it is accepted into the program. Contact them at the above link for more information.

Volunteer Solutions
A Web-based volunteer matching application, named Volunteer Solutions, was launched by United Way of Central Iowa to help volunteers in the community find the perfect volunteer match with more than 400 volunteer opportunities. This service is part of a nationwide searchable database of over 100 communities listing more than 25,000 volunteer opportunities. Any nonprofit 501(c)3 organization as well as government agencies and faith-based organizations can list their volunteer needs on the site. They need not be United Way community partners. Organizations may post their volunteer opportunities by registering on the Web site. There is no charge.
